Product Development Engineer
Experienced Embedded Design Engineer – Research and Development role
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new software and control algorithms for inductive power systems and controllers
- Design of RF communication platforms
- Work with R&D teams to develop a strong understanding of inductive power transfer
- Simulation, prototyping, detailed circuit design, unit test plan, troubleshooting, and documentation of designs
- Development of system specifications
- Contribute to cross functional project teams to develop product from concept to production
- Assist in selecting and working with contract manufacturers and component suppliers
Experience
- 10+ years (5+ years required) related professional experience in the development of embedded systems. Embedded design experience with power converters would be ideal
- Proficient with digital communication protocols including CAN, RS485, RS232, Ethernet
- Proficient in FPGA, DSP and microcontroller development
- Experienced with digital communication protocols including CAN, RS485, RS232, Ethernet
- Capable of implementing designs from development boards to production PCB’s
- Proficient in PCB design CAD packages such as Eagle CAD, Altium Designer (Protel)
- Proven mastery of electrical engineering design principles and techniques

Product Development Engineer
Experienced Hardware Design Engineer (Power Electronics) – Research and Development role
Responsibilities
- Investigation and development of advanced power converter technology. Knowledge of Inductive Power Transfer systems would be ideal
- Simulation, prototyping, detailed circuit design, unit test plan, troubleshooting, and documentation of designs
- Development of system specifications
- Contribute to cross functional project teams to develop product from concept to production
- Assist in selecting and working with contract manufacturers and component suppliers
Experience
- 10+ years (5+ years required) related professional experience in the design of commercial power electronics (switch mode power supplies, power inverters and other power converters)
- Proficient in PCB design CAD packages such as Eagle CAD, Altium Designer (Protel)
- Knowledge and design experience with standard power converters preferably in the 1kW-10kW range
- Thermal design and modelling experience
- Knowledge of in magnetic design and simulation packages such as PSPICE, JMAG and PSIM
- Proven mastery of electrical engineering design principles and techniques

Education
